MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Visitors and residents can once again enjoy the treasures of the Dias Museum as the doors will officially open on Thursday 1 October after six months of hibernation due to Covid-19.
According to the museum manager, Mr Mbulelo Mrubata, he and his staff are delighted to open their treasure trove to the public.
“However our main attraction, the caravel will be closed until further notice. The aquarium touch tank at the Shell Museum will operate like other tanks and visitors will not be allowed to touch the animals,” he said.
The museum will operate between 09:00 and 14:00 on weekdays and will be closed on weekends and public holidays.
The museum will be operated under strict level 2 lockdown rules and regulations. For example people without masks will be denied entry to the premises. People’s temperature will be tested and those who have 38 degrees or more will not be allowed.
Only 50 visitors per building will be allowed at a time.
