MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay resident, Natalie Meintjes, a qualified early childhood development educator, visits preschools in the area, sharing the love of Jesus with the children.
She prefers to focus on preschools where the children do not necessarily come from very wealthy homes and who therefore will find the visit a special occasion.
"I combine my experience as a preschool teacher and my love of arts and crafts in order to give the children a fun, yet educational experience," Natalie says.
"Using arts and crafts, I encourage the children to discover their own creativity," Natalie enthuses.
What also makes it enjoyable for the children is that they have a day that is outside of the ordinary and they get to meet Natalie and her cheerful team of volunteers.
These volunteers are women who are members of local church congregations and actively serving the Lord, Natalie says.
So far this year Natalie has visited the following preschools: Juweeltjies in KwaNonqaba, Sonskynvallei Preschool, Zisukhanyo Educare Centre in KwaNonqaba and most recently, Voetspoortjies in Sonskynvallei.
Natalie's visits are absolutely free for the children. She would like to serve more preschools in the greater Mossel Bay area and in rural areas, therefore she asks if any sponsors could support her work. The number of children in the schools ranges from 70 to 120.
If you are able to help in any way through sponsorship of stationery; art and craft materials; and any suitable foodstuff, contact Natalie (072 130 5433).
She can supply references from principals of the various preschools she has visited and from women in leadership positions in recognised churches in the community.
Natalie has called her project Crownkidz Outreach.
Natalie uses arts and crafts to encourage the children to discover their own creativity.
