MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The holiday season is basically here, and with that, various safety initiatives. Mossel Bay's very own CPF Volunteer Horse Patrols are one of these initiatives.
This group of horses and riders not only patrols the shoreline on Mossel Bay's beaches each year, looking out for the community, but captivates the hearts of children and onlookers.
Just as cars need fuel, however, this four-legged mode of patrol and transport is no different. Should any community members like to support this initiative, whether financially or by donations, they may contact the CPF on cpfdgk@gmail.com.
The goal of the horse patrols is to keep a watchful eye and provide additional safety measures to residents and holidaymakers on beaches.
These volunteers are clearly visible, aiming to ensuring peace of mind for anyone on vacation. The volunteers on this initiative work with Leon van Dyk (JOC) and Hannelie Marais (Da Gamaskop CPF chairperson).
The Mossel Bay Municipality reminded the public that, aside from these authorised patrols, horse riding is not permitted on beaches within the municipal area.
