MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Dias Museum is the ideal venue for an art exhibition, called #RespectforArtists, to be held from 1 to 6 July.
"I think this theme speaks for itself. My studio, Michelle Benjamin Digital Artist, is proud to announce that we have been chosen to showcase the spectacular art and artists for the upcoming show at the Dias Museum in Mossel Bay," says Michelle Benjamin, one of the organisers.
Over 50 artists' work was reviewed for the show and only four emerging artists were chosen, including local, Trey Smith.
His art secured him a sponsorship to participate in the exhibition, which is an added accomplishment, given the quality of the other entries.
Trey is a passionate self-taught artist. From an early age, he had a keen fascination for Art and eventually, at the age of 14, he started to learn how to paint.
Trey always has the urge to learn and grow as an artist and as a person.
Every artwork is a new adventure and he sows his heart, soul and memories of moments in his life into each art piece. Trey has dabbled in fine art, murals and live performance art or speed-painting.
The exhibition is being hosted by Global Creative Tribe, an international art organisation, that is as elusive, but powerful as the artist, Banksy. It is watching artists globally on instagram, facebook and other portals.
Benjamin said: "I am known to this organisation through my own global status as an international digital artist.
"There will be a private artists' reception for 25 guests at the Dias Museum on Saturday, 6 July. This is the inaugural show and we have plans to grow it to a much bigger event. There will be other shows in the near future and we will definitely inform the town of Mossel Bay much earlier," says Benjamin.
