MOSSEL BAY ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Top artists are setting the MosJazz Festival apart from anything local Jazz lovers have experienced.
The festival starts on Thursday 17 January.
Andrew Koopman of Team AK Media, on behalf of Camissa Solutions, organisers of the annual event, said a brilliant line-up of musicians and deejays is ensuring the second MosJazz International Music Festival, which ends on Sunday will be a memorable one.
MosJazz, sporting a newly designed stage at the De Bakke Santos resort, will open at 16.30 on Thursday with the band, Sole Individuals, followed by the legendary Cape Town band Virtual Jazz Reality.
In addition Ian Smith and Sammy Webber entertain the fans along with Fancy Galada and the evergreen The Rockets before DJ Rory will end the night on a high note.
On Friday Chillibites are first up, followed by Brent Kruse's tribute to guitar wizard Carlos Santana. Then follows Garth Taylor before Emo Adams will take to the stage. Selwyn Bartlett will end off the entertainment for the day.
On Saturday Mano Smith & Ricochet will kick off the proceedings at 13:00, followed by Ramon Alexander, Judy Boucher, Choko Caribbean Vibes, a tribute by Karen Kortje to Aretha Franklin, Top Dog, Heart & Soul and deejay Uncle Cal.
Starting earlier on Sunday, G Minor will take to the stage at 11:00, followed respectively by Loren Erasmus, British sax sensation Andrew Young, Zami Mdingi and British hitmaker Phil Fearon. Jeodhouse, featuring Loukmaan Adams will be the closing act.
Clarence Ford from Heart FM will be broadcasting his popular Sunday evening programme, Me Time, from the festival to bring a close to four days of fun, sun and great music.
The festival is a duplication of the successful Jazz on the Rocks event, that happens annually at Tietiesbaai near Paternoster on the Cape’s West Coast
The event is the brainchild of events company, Camissa Experiences, who are keen to tempt city slickers into the pristine, natural spaces offered by rural coastal communities such as Mossel Bay.
