On Friday 7 November, members are invited, free of charge, to a musical evening provided by the highly talented youngsters who form the Outeniqua High Instrumental Ensemble.
Non-members are equally welcome, but will be required to pay the usual entrance fee of R90 per ticket and R20 for scholars, payable at the door.
These talented youngsters – 12 in all, varying in age from 14 to 17, boys and girls – have promised a wonderfully varied programme, ranging from new arrangements of works by Bach, Handel, Brahms and Debussy, interwoven with a wide selection of lighter and just as well-loved pieces in solos, duets and ensembles, with one or two improvisations. Combinations of string, woodwind, brass and guitar make up the instruments.
Outeniqua High teachers Kalene Roux and Hannelouw van Staden work as a team with the ensemble, conducting, accompanying and arranging music. They also see to the administrative side, organising concerts amongst other tasks.

The performance starts at 19:30 at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum, on Friday 7 November – a unique opportunity to enjoy a vibrant evening of music provided by some of the talented youngsters of the Southern Cape.
