MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Young Mossel Bay sailors are going great guns and proving their skill, with two of them about to compete internationally.
Khanya Mafuta and Oliver Holden, who are Protea sailors, have made the South African sailing team to take part in the Youth World Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, from 8 to 15 July.
The Skipper Foundation NPO in Mossel Bay trains sailors from various schools in town. The Friday Hillcrest School sailing group completed sailing training in 30 knots of wind two weeks ago.
"This is a great achievement," Skipper Foundation founder and coach, Elfie Holden, said.

The group from Hillcrest consists of Shadley Thomas, Waydon Goliath, Wisdom Bali, Salmah Bastra, Misumzi Nqeku, Salmaan Bastra, Botle Mangquthu, Siphesihle Jantjies, Likhona Mgchodo, Akhelakhe Masasi, Lisakhanya Mginingini, Lutho Mvala, Sibabalwe Xhame and Lelam Dube.
