NATIONAL NEWS - Hijackings are on the increase with four cases reported in three days in Brakpan and gangs posing as police terrorising motorists on Kliprivier Drive and the R59 in Johannesburg.
The Brakpan Herald reports that most incidents happened in Brakpan Central and victims are mostly targeted between 06:00 and 07:30 when they leave for work while e-hailing drivers are commonly targeted between 19:30 and 21:00.
The gang involved is described as aggressive and move around in a group of two to three people, armed with 9mm pistols.

Five vehicles stole in two days
In eMalahleni, the Witbank News reports that five cars were stolen between August 5 to 6. Two Toyota Fortuners and two Hilux bakkies were among the vehicles taken.
