Gang’s reign of terror ends after arrests

NATIONAL NEWS - The alleged ringleader of a gang of robbers who have been terrorising Port Elizabeth university students and residents in Summerstrand for months has been arrested.

The man, 31, who goes by the alias of “Blade” and is one of the city’s most wanted house robbers, is also being questioned in connection with the murder of NMMU student Asadullah Ajimudin, 19, last month.

Police believe he could be linked to more than 20 unsolved cases in the city.

The man has been on the run for almost two months and was finally arrested at a hideout in Walmer township on Friday morning.
