MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Primary schools from across the Eden region came together for a gripping day of netball, rugby and soccer matches hosted by Garden Route Primary School at the Ext 23 field in Mossel Bay on Saturday 19 September.
The event, named the Over-aged Tournament 2026, allowed primary school learners over the age of 13 to compete against other teams of the same age.
Drawing spectators from across the region, the matches saw not only boys’ rugby and soccer teams compete, but girls’ teams too.
The boys’ rugby winners were Bongolethu Primary School from Oudtshoorn, and the victorious girls’ rugby team was Tyholora Primary School from George. Tyholora also won the girls’ soccer.
The winning netball team was from Phakamisani Primary School from Kwanokothula in Plettenberg Bay.
Due to time constraints, the semi-finals and finals for the boys’ soccer will be held in George. The date and time are yet to be confirmed.
The teams going to the semi-finals are Mossel Bay’s own Isalathiso Primary School, Thembalethu Primary School in George, Phakamisani and Tyholora.
