'Faulty radar may not have cause Cape Town plane crash'

NATIONAL NEWS - An aviation body says preliminary investigations into a deadly plane crash in Cape Town have revealed a technical glitch with radar may not have caused the accident.

A number of aircraft had to be kept in a holding pattern for several hours yesterday across the country due to radar problems.

Five people were killed when a plane crashed in the Tygerberg Nature Reserve on Sunday.

An 80-year-old South African citizen, his daughter, a paramedic and two pilots died when the light medical aircraft went down.

The airplane was transporting an elderly man to Cape Town from Namibia for medical treatment.
