Explosives found in Springs house, 6 arrested

NATIONAL NEWS - Authorities have discovered explosives in a house in Springs on the East Rand.

Police also found a detonator in a suspicious vehicle during a stop and search operation yesterday which lead them to the premises.

Authorities suspect the explosives were illegally obtained and used for illegal mining as well as for ATM bombings.

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police's, Wilfred Kgasago says six people were arrested.

“They are aged between 26 and 33. They will appear in court either today or tomorrow latest to face charges of illegal possession of explosives.”
