MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Footage of heavy smoke was taken from Hartenbos Heuwels, where smoke is visible in a vegetation area between Sonskynvallei and Hartenbos Heuwels.
The Mossel Bay Municipality says that, as a precautionary measure, residents of these two neighbourhoods are advised to close all doors and windows.
Strong and shifting winds, with speeds of up to 35 km/h expected, are making conditions difficult for firefighting efforts.
Aerial firefighting operations have commenced, and fire crews are fully deployed in the area.
