MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 47-year-old Mossel Bay businessman who is facing multiple counts of fraud totalling just over R800 000 appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court last Thursday, 9 April.
André Boshoff was an electrician for a company operating in the Mossel Bay area.
According to the court documents, he allegedly offered to sell various components for solar installation or solar units to 12 different people, and between February 2023 and May 2024, allegedly took deposits of varying amounts, ranging from R15 000 to R180 000, the total amounting to R818 000.
Once these people had paid their deposits, Boshoff allegedly failed to procure or provide the materials and/or installations as promised.
The first case opened against him was in August 2023.
Boshoff appeared in court last Thursday for a plea negotiation; however, the consultation with all 12 complainants had not yet been done as one of the victims was overseas.
Magistrate Jerome Koeries granted a postponement to 23 June, but stated that this would be the last one for this matter.
