MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On 14 November, the Blaize Away Shellhole will be hosting the largest ever annual Remembrance Day memorial service at the Cenotaph at the Point in Mossel Bay.
"We are adopting a military theme to complement the realities of the war. Starting off, the outer perimeter of the Cenotaph will be set up with amateur radio operators representing a field station.
"This medium will be used to spread the 'Lest we forget' message associated with Remembrance Day," says a spokesperson for the Shellhole, Anthony Janse van Rensburg,
"Some old military radios will be on display. The public will be able to witness first-hand how amateur radio works."
"At an appropriate time during the service, there will be live cannon fire, signalling the start and end of the two minutes' silence in commemoration of the lives lost during armed conflict."
The parade commences at 10:30. "Please please arrive early and bring a chair.
