The purpose of this carnival was to build social partnerships with all Public Servants, NGOs and the community at large.
This year's carnival was dedicated to all the woman in the community that make a difference in the lives of others. The objective was to re-align family values and to fight crime through occupying the youth with positive influence, to show them that you can enjoy yourself without negative things like drugs.
Mossel Bay Correctional Services and stakeholders thank all participants and supporters for a successful carnival. The carnival caters for both young and old and the various events ensured fun and entertainment for everyone.
More than 3000 people visited the Correctional premises over the period. On Sunday, 31 August a Gospel evening was held. Local artists from various churches, as well as guest artist Gregory Noble performed.
On Friday morning, a breakfast took place with the keynote speaker Mr Viljoen from the Heritage Association. T
he waitresses were dressed in school uniforms to emphasise their commitment and support towards Casual Day.
Various car dealerships also displayed their vehicles during the Carnival.
The main event took place on Saturday 6 September and started with various activities like Tiger Khai, park-offs, a sound competition and quad bike rides.
The big attraction was the fun fair (merry-go-round) and children came from all over to enjoy the rides.
The major attraction for the Saturday was the sound competition that was hosted by What's up Car Audio security and the Gim Kana-Burn out Bikers from Mossel Bay.
The ladies were given the opportunity to show off their beauty at the Miss Carnival Junior and Senior and the men entertained themselves around the barbeque fires with big screen rugby.
