The journey covers around 35 000 km's across 20 countries and is undertaken in order to raise funds and create publicity opportunities for the Children's Hospital Fund.
"I felt so proud riding into my home town on Sunday. I have waited so long to do this and can hardly believe that it is finally happening," Ian told the Advertiser. According to Chamberlain, the project has gained tremendous momentum from the start of 2013, especially in terms of exposure via social networks such as Facebook.
"We are generating a lot of interest en route as well. There is a lot of interaction taking place as people are very curious about what we are up to!", Chamberlain said.
He said, that although it is still early days, everything is going according to plan, although they ran out of fuel on the way to Port Elizabeth on Tuesday. "At this stage we still had a good laugh about it," he chuckled.
