GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Garden Route cities and towns have over the past years become a home for South Africans with varying reasons as to why they are relocating.
Although accepted in certain communities that the living conditions, service delivery and governance are in good standing and an improvement as from where they come from, there are other communities who are voicing a gradual decline in the same taking place across the Garden Route and others indicating that their conditions are severely lacking in municipal services and leadership.
Dr Dennis Farrell of Business Café has initiated 'The State and Sustainability of Cities/ Towns in the Garden Route' survey to enable residents and ratepayers across all cities and towns in the Garden Route to voice their views and perceptions related to the municipality they live in or have interests.
The survey pertains to leadership and management (administrative and political), socio-economic status, and municipal governance and service delivery.
Farrell has informed all municipal managers in the Garden Route that the survey will be taking place with summarised results published in the media and sent to the municipal managers. He encourages people to participate in the survey and to answer all the questions according to their experience.
"Invest between 8 to 12 minutes of your time to complete the survey. The outcome will be a barometer to be applied by municipal leadership and management to maintain and/or improve on governance and service delivery, and in considering the affordability of ratepayers footing the bills."
