MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A woman who lives in Fraaiuitsig, outside Mossel Bay, has a wonderfully satisfying enterprise for charity.
She knits beanies, which are given to newborns at hospitals.

There are many people knitting beanies and also little vests for newborns, but what makes Veronica Breytenbach's efforts special, is that she anoints each beanie with oil and prays over it.
She attaches to each a Bible verse - a section of Isaiah 43:1: "I have called you by name, you are mine."
Veronica told the Mossel Bay Advertiser this week: "A year ago I decided to do something that would make an impact. I asked the Lord what I should do."
The thought came to Veronica that she should help underprivileged babies.
She points out that babies cannot choose to be born or not and they are vulnerable when they come into the world.
Her thought behind creating the beanies for them and anointing and praying over them is that at least the babies' heads, brains and thoughts are covered in prayer.
Veronica buys her own yarn and some people have donated to her cause.
She has called her project "Daisy's dimpels".
She says: "My second name is Daisy. My mother's name was Daisy and my daughter's second name is also Daisy. The name signifies purity, innocence and new beginnings." Veronica estimates she has knitted up to 300 beanies.
Some she has given to The Myrtle Tree NPO in Mossel Bay, which assists single moms and their children and others she has sent to Pretoria, to be handed out at hospitals and children's homes there.
