MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On Wednesday, 8 July Mossel Bay residents will hang their knitted scarves in the trees at a park for the homeless and less fortunate to help themselves in having some warmth this winter.
The 67 blankets for Nelson Mandela Day Secret Scarves mission is a charity started by Carolyn Steyn.
Ambassador and Mossel Bay residents Jeni Joubert has been knitting many scarves and says the scarves will be distributed at sites around the country for people to take.
Steyn says: "The world is a different place and as we start to leave our homes to cast out into unchartered waters to find the 'new normal' at work, at schools and in our daily lives, we are aware of how life has changed and now, more than ever before, people need love, warmth and kindness."

"The KnitWits for Madiba are doing what they have done for the last few years; they have picked up needles and hooks and chosen wool of many colours and are crocheting and knitting scarves for people who desperately need them this year."
In Mossel Bay residents can hang their scarves in the trees in the park in front of Mossel Bay Spar. "It has benches, bushes, poles and trees to festoon with all the scarves." The event will start on Wednesday, at 15:00 at the top of Marsh Street.
