MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Rain and cold did not prevent intercessors from meeting on Sunday, 25 June, at the Engen 1 Stop fuel filling station on the N2 highway outside Mossel Bay, in the direction of Cape Town.
They prayed for the safety of people on the N2 past Mossel Bay.
The meeting was organised by Mossel Bay lawyer Melanie van Aswegen following the three accidents at the intersection of the N2 with Louis Fourie Road (R102) near Dana Bay during May and June.

In a crash involving a sedan and a bakkie, six people were killed. In another, involving two buses, another six people were killed. There were no fatalities in the third accident.
Van Aswegen said about the prayer meeting: "It went well; it was powerful. We stood in the rain, on the depot side of the filling station. We got soaking wet, but we were on fire. There were 30 of us from different churches, people who love other people."
Van Aswegen was extremely grateful to the Engen station owner, Dirkie van Niekerk, and his team for accommodating the prayers on his premises. "They gave us coffee afterwards."
Communion
She said the intercessors had communion together - bread and grape juice.
"People's hearts were in unity. We prayed for people on the road, for peace, for the taxis, for those working long hours, driving trucks and buses."
Sometimes tiredness was the cause of accidents, Van Aswegen said.
"Many people were sick with colds and could not come. If the sun had shone, we would have had double the people. The weather played a role in keeping people away."
Van Aswegen has started a WhatsApp group for those interested in praying about critical issues in Mossel Bay. She plans to hold a prayer meeting once a month.
"We want to come with strategy and solutions. Prayer is strategic. There is so much negativity and hopelessness. We must connect and support one another. It's crucial to bring light and hope."
