MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The town's new youth-driven movement, Mossel Bay BIG3, visited Sao Bras High School last Friday, 28 August, in an event that encouraged and promoted community upliftment and the young up-and-comers of the performing arts.

Walter Blaq, one of the founders of the movement, said that this was the first stop in the school tour in Mossel Bay to gather food donations that will feed local families in need.

"This is bigger than a school tour. It's about teaching our young people that we are not only here to receive; we are also here to give," said Blaq.

He added that every food item brought represents somebody choosing to make a difference and that every young person who participates will be part of building a better, more caring community.

Not only did the event aim to gather food donations, but there were also performances from the youth.

Dancing, singing, rapping and poetry were just some of the talents welcomed during the visit.

Blaq said the movement is partnering with some local businesses and schools and after all food donations have been collected and gathered, the group will approach local organisations to find families to donate to.
