GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A 43-year-old suspect was arrested this week after being found in possession of 4 000 mandrax tablets worth R200 000.
The George based Serious Organised Crime Investigation team of the Hawks in collaboration with the Outeniqua K9 Unit arrested the man in Mossel Bay on Thursday 3 September.
According to a statement released by the Hawks, the team received information regarding drugs that were sold at a house in Da Gamaskop. The suspect was identified and in possession of a suspicious parcel. Upon searching the parcel, the 4 000 mandrax tablets were recovered and seized.
The suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in drugs and will make his first appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday 7 September.
