MOSSEL BAY NEWSFLASH - Sentencing proceedings will start in the Mossel Bay circuit High Court this morning in the case of a farm worker who has been found guilty of murdering 52-year-old Sharon Lee Bester on her farm in Albertinia.
The 21-year-old accused, Johannes Bangiso grew up on the farm, Zout van die Aarde and strangled Bester to death on the 27th of October last year.
Bangiso made certain formal confessions to the court and admitted that he murdered Bester, stole some of her belongings before driving off in her Landrover.
During evidence in mitigation of sentence Judge Nathan Erasmus told Bangiso that it is not a question of whether he is going to send Bangiso to jail, but rather a question of how many years of imprisonment he will be sentencing him to.
