Advertorial
BUSINESS NEWS - The team at the head of the new King's College@Outeniquasbosch School near Hartenbos is excited to welcome children to the school in January 2025.
Stepping into the shoes of headmaster is Van Wyk Dames, an educator who has spent the last 20 years of his career in Mossel Bay. His wife Mariet, who also has a wealth of experience in teaching, has been appointed the departmental head of the foundation phase.
"King's College", although sounding similar in name to other Gauteng schools, is entirely independent and one of a kind.
The school's decision-makers are based right here in the larger Mossel Bay community, which puts them in the optimal position to have your child's best interest at heart: biblical values will be at the core of King's College.
Benadering
Garden Route
Philip and Carol Vercueil will also join the King's College team. They are no strangers to the Garden Route, with Philip having spent 14 years at Glenwood House Preparatory School in George. There, he found a true sense of belonging and he will now be returning to the Garden Route to form part of the success story that will be King's College. Philip will fill the role of academic head, while Carol will be the administrative head.
Opedag
Academics
Naturally, the school's curriculum is of great importance for any parent. At King's College, teachers will be equipping your child for worldwide opportunities.
Not only is the IEB curriculum internationally recognised; it also encourages critical thinking from an early age. This approach goes beyond just memorisation, nurturing learners' ability to think creatively and independently.
Extracurricular
In terms of extracurricular activities, there are already plans for soccer and mountain biking as well as trail running. The environment of the school lends itself to these activities. Further, sport skills will be developed from the start in terms of other mainstream sports, which will be phased in as the school grows.
Cultural activities, such as music, drama and the visual arts, will also be encouraged.
