Hosted in die Diaz Museum, which offers one of the most interesting stage backdrops to perform against, the event was well attended and provided an opportunity to enjoy a fusion of creative expression, as young actors, singers and musicians from various participating schools took to the stage.
The art entered into this competition was also on display. An appreciative audience lavished the talented performers with their applause as participants as young as Gr R (5-6 years old) stepped up undauntedly to do their thing. Most certainly, one of the highlights was in the choral verse section, with Daniel Lochner from Milkwood Primary presenting his interpretation of the highly addictive drug TIK, currently amongst one of the greatest social ills plaguing the youth in the Western and Southern Cape.
According to Daniel's mother, Wendy, he has already been invited to another local school to perform, following his riveting interpretation at the gala event. The talent amongst young local musicians is well worth mentioning, although the programme seemed lacking in terms of singing participants. The young actors also entertained with an enjoyable variety of dialogues, monologues and poetry.

The Gr R group from Milkwood Primary stole the show, not only for being ever so cute, but also for their well practised speach choir.
