MOSSEL BAY NEWS - This year's classical music concert, arranged by the Mossel Bay Arts Society, at the Mossel Bay Dias & Port Festival is set to inspire purists and novices alike.
Musica Amici, a seven-member ensemble, will transport the audience to the amazing worlds of Mozart, Bruch, Poulenc, Schubert, Schumann, Albeniz, Drigo, Massenet, Gossec, Strauss, Stolz, Zeller and Milhaud.
To ensure the best possible concert, a second piano has been arranged alongside the society's special Kawai grand piano.
Convened by Dr Gerrit Jordaan, Musica Amici comprises Dalene Brits and Kaléne Roux (piano), Ruaan van der Vyver (flute), Elise Munro (clarinet), Ingrid Robinson (viola), Elisabeth Potgieter (mezzo-soprano) and Heinrich Jonck (tenor).
To accommodate as many as possible, two concerts will be held - one on Friday, 1 February and one on Saturday, 2 February. Both concerts start at 19:30, with doors opening at 18:00. Entry is free of charge but booking is essential, with Abé Meintjes (083 268 3718).
