MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The February Spar day at Mossel Bay bowling club was the largest ever, with the green packed to maximum capacity.

A total of 14 teams fiercely competed for the monthly honours while enjoying a beautiful sunny Mossel Bay afternoon.

Bowls is known as a well-mannered sport played by gentlemen and gentle women, but good manners do not, however, prevent players from having a sense of humour.

Every little error or funny comment made during the game is noted by the fines master who ensures that everyone shares in the joke later, with the "guilty" party making a contribution towards club funds.

Having our local Superspar sponsor monthly prizes for doing what we all enjoy, is the cherry on top for most club members and contributes towards building spirit in a club that is widely known for its hospitality and friendliness.

Thank you, Spar! The next two Spar days are on Wednesday, 7 March and 4 April and all local bowlers, as well as visiting bowlers, are invited to participate.
