Southern Cape Okinawa Goju Ryu rewards best karateka
Jean Oelofsen receives the Tom Ferreira Memorial Floating Trophy for sportsman of the year from sensei Angel Prins (6th dan).

SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Southern Cape Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate and Ryukyu Kobudo concluded its 2017 programme with a successful black belt grading and annual awards presentation at the regional Honbu Dojo in George.

Jean Oelofsen received the sportsman of the year trophy for representing South Africa at the World Federation Tournament in Bucharest, Romania.

Sportspersons awards in various age categories went to Tanisha and Dillon McLellan, Lauren Rothman, RC Coetzee and Bosman Joubert.

Awards in various other categories went to Johan van Niekerk, Richardu Janse van Rensburg and Rhuzaan Pretorius while the Norman Reinach team award went to Jenelle van Wyk, Dillon and Tanisha McLellan.
