KARATE NEWS - The first Ryukyu Kobudo grading for the year took place at the George Shibu dojo last weekend.
Six kobudo ka were put through their paces to show their competency in performing kobudo kata with three different Okinawan weapons, the Sai (short sword), Bo (long staff) and Nunchaku.
The group did exceptionally well and all were promoted to their next belt level. The next intake for Kobudo beginners will be during October while the annual kobudo black belt dan grading is scheduled for December.
