MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Four women have done Mossel Bay proud by competing in a national virtual race to raise funds to feed hungry children and to honour frontline workers, fighting the battle against Covid-19.
The Wonder Woman race took place on Women's Day, 9 August, and was organised by the Justice League, which has a series of virtual races to support worthy causes.
The theme of the Wonder Woman race was super heroes, because the frontline workers are seen as super heroes.
Mossel Bay's own four super heroes - Bronwyn Macdonald, Carol Groenewald, Rina van Schalkwyk and Nelmarie van Broekhuizen - got dressed up for the theme and had a photograph taken together, but they did not race together.
They ran separately and then submitted their race results.
It was a 10km race.
Bronwyn said: "We are all regular runners and belong to running clubs. With the lockdown, we have not been running together, but have been doing virtual races together."
The runners' entry fee for the race went towards the worthy cause.
The Justice League partnered with Headstart Kids, which provides food packs to young children.
