MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Participating in the Mossel Bay Sports and Recreation festival, four athletes qualified for participation in the IWF World Senior Weightlifting Championship that will take place in the USA in November.
On Saturday, 23 September the floor echoed as athletes competed in two weightlifting competitions that coincide with one another.
It was the first competition of many that will take place annually at the Eden Fitness/Crossfit Charisma.

The Western Province Senior Championships enabled athletes to compete for Provincial Colours and to qualify for the South African Championships that take place on 4 November.
Two coaches, Ruan Barnard and Ruben Burger of Eden Fitness qualified to participate in the South African Championships in November.
The South African Coastal Weightlifting Championships was open to any athlete and enticed participants from all over South Africa.
This competition is another way to enable the sport to grow. It provides young athletes the exposure to the sporting code and an opportunity to learn from the more experienced athletes.
Four of the athletes that competed in Saturday's Championships qualified for the IWF World Senior Championship, which will be held in Anaheim, USA.
They are Ruben Burger, Lyle du Plooy, Johanni Hugo, and Robyn February. This event will take place from 28 November - 5 December.
