Players from as far a field as Heidelberg, Beaufort West and Plettenberg Bay participated in this popular event, hosted by George Bowling Club.
Bowls of exceptional standard were displayed in perfect conditions. In the men's masters singles competition old stalwart Akker van der Merwe showed that there is no replacement for experience when he overcame a strong onslaught from Attie Nortje from Outeniqua Bowling Club, winning by 21 ends to 13 in this tightly contested section.
He last won this title in 1997.The senior ladies and men's single titles went to Rosalie Horning (Sedgefield BC) and Trevor Davis (George BC) respectively, while the President's Invitation Singles trophies were claimed by Susan Meyer (Outeniqua BC) and Truter Willemse of Plettenberg Bay Bowling Club.
