MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - The SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHRs) is a volunteer organisation that supports SANParks to develop, expand, manage and promote a system of sustainable national parks.
The SHRs assist in raising valuable funds, creating vital public awareness and supplying much-needed manpower and equipment to supplement various conservation, tourism and environmental educational needs to SANParks.
The SANParks Honorary Rangers are people with a passion for nature and a dedication to support all the South African National Parks.
They facilitate various fundraising activities, such as the fifth SHRs Wilderness Golf Day which was held at the Mossel Bay Golf Club on 3 May with the purpose to raise funds for projects identified by SANParks, for example the fight against the poaching onslaught in all our parks. More than R57million is raised per annum through the SHRs' fundraising activities nationally.
The Golf Day was supported by a total of 43 sponsors, ranging from local businesses in Mossel Bay to enterprises in Cape Town, Albertinia and George, who all shared the passion for their environment and heritage.
Through their contribution and support the SHRs managed to host a successful event which was also well supported by a total of 90 enthusiastic golfers who opened their hearts and hands on this special day.
The SANParks SHRs are looking forward to hosting their next Golf Day in 2021.
The aim of the golf day was to raise funds for various SANparks projects.
It's a good day on the golf course if your support can raise funds to fight poaching.
The successful event was well supported by over 90 golfers.
