FOOTBALL - New Orlando Pirates signing Justin Shonga hopes to follow in the footsteps of his Zambian compatriots who have impacted positively on the club in the past.
The 20-year-old Zambian international was confirmed as having signed for the Buccaneers on Wednesday morning.
Shonga has been part of the Zambian side that has been involved in World Cup qualifiers, and also scored three times against South Africa in two 2018 Chan qualifying games last month.
"I am happy to be here," he was quoted saying on the Pirates website.
"This is the right move for my career and my ambitions. I would like to emulate other Zambian players who have done well at the club such as Perry Mutapa and Isaac Chansa."
Shonga has been signed from Zambian top-flight club Nkwazi FC.
