MOSSEL BAY CRICKET NEWS - After beating Border in both the three-day and limited over match the SWD senior cricket team will be confident for this weekend's clash with Northern Cape at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.
With only two matches in both the three-day and limited over formats remaining for the season there will be a lot at stake for the men from the Southern Cape.
After some very impressive performances with the ball the spin bowler, Tsepo Ndwandwa, received a call-up to the Cobras for their Momentum One-day Cup campaign. He will be replaced by former SA U19 spinner, Ndumiso Mvelase, who also offers some value with his batting abilities.
A late injury to Bradley de Villiers has opened the door for 2,03m tall former Rondebosch Boys High School product, Francois Harley, who studies game ranch management at the NMU George campus.
Christiaan Jonker, who represented SWD before he joined the Warriors, will be in the limited over team. Jonker has also represented the Proteas in Twenty20 cricket
Northern Cape are currently the log leaders in Pool B in the limited over competition with six victories in seven matches. In the three-day competition they haave won three of their seven matches.
The SWD team for the three-day match is:
Kirwin Christoffels (captain), Jean du Plessis, Richardt Frenz, Brendon Louw, Jhedli van Briesies, Neil Hornbuckle, Ndumiso Mvelase, Tyrece Karelse, Francois Harley, Renaldo Meyer and Herschel America.
Christiaan Jonker, Yamkela Oliphant and Bailey Aarons will be added to the one-day team.
