Phangiso suspended for illegal bowling action

NATIONAL NEWS - Aaron Phangiso has been suspended with immediate effect from domestic cricket after independent tests revealed that the left-arm spinner had been contravening bowling laws and his bowling methods were illegal, a statement from Cricket South Africa (CSA) said.

The tests were conducted on Friday at the University of Pretoria.

Phangiso’s tests were conducted by a member of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists.

The assessment revealed that all variations of his deliveries exceeded the 15 degree level of tolerance permitted under the regulations.
