GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO SPORT NEWS -The two-day fixture between the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers Academy and Western Province played in Cape Town last week ended in a draw.
The Garden Route Badgers, who batted first, declared their first innings as 404/8 (82 overs).
Travis Ackermann excelled with an innings of 160, while Hayden Sweet posted 74. Western Province was dismissed at the end of the second day for 295.
Western Province (130/5 – 18/5 overs) won the Twenty20 match by five wickets with seven balls to spare.
For the Badgers, Johan Smal (50*) impressed with an unbeaten half-century.
