NATIONAL NEWS - The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it's ready to take on the African National Congress (ANC) at the polls.
Following the failed no confidence motion in President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday, the opposition party will on Thursday table another motion to have Parliament dissolved.
DA leaders say the ANC may have won in the motion vying for Zuma's removal, but they are certain the ruling party has lost the confidence of the country.
The DA is seeking the disbandment of Parliament and for an earlier election to be called Under Section 50 of the Constitution.
Party leader Mmusi Maimane says the electorate should decide on government's future.
“We call on those who are within the ANC, who are against corruption, looting and state capture, to vote in support of our motion. Ultimately, the issues about realigning our politics in South Africa… we can’t sustain the challenge of the politics of our patronage.”
