Man who killed his daughter 'has shown no remorse'

NATIONAL NEWS - The Western Cape High Court has heard a Montagu father, who beat his three-month old child to death, has shown no remorse.

Eugene Plaatjies was found guilty of murder, assault and child neglect in connection with the death of his daughter Antonique Alkaster in 2014.

Argument in mitigation and aggravation of sentence will continue in the High Court today.

Testifying on her pre-sentencing report, social worker Charlene Demas pointed out Plaatjies has not taken any responsibility for his daughter's death and still maintains his innocence.
