#LilyMine: Officials expected to give an update

NATIONAL NEWS - Officials at the Lily Mine are expected to give an update today on their efforts to rescue three trapped workers.

The three miners are trapped in a metal container under tonnes of rock and earth.

Today authorities at the mine will give a tour of the site where experts are attempting to drill a shaft 70 metres underground to access the site of the trapped container with the three mineworkers inside.

The shaft will be used as an entry and exit route for officials to remove trapped mineworkers, Yvonne Mnisi, Solomon Nyerende and Pretty Nkambule, without risking more cave-ins.
