The ANC on Tuesday met with Fransman to discuss the charges against him.
Spokesperson Jabu Mfusi said sexual harassment allegations against the party’s provincial leader were on the agenda of a high level meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, a 20-year old woman Fransman had hired as a personal assistant, made the claims following the ANC’s birthday celebrations in the North West over the weekend.
Despite calls to suspend Fransman, the party said the law must take its course.
In a statement, the ANC said while police continue to investigate the sexual harassment claims, he’s not yet officially been charged.
The party said its members should exercise discipline and refrain from undue or wrongful public comment on the matter.
