NATIONAL NEWS - The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) yesterday gave a clear indication it would fight the ANC in next year’s local government elections.

Numsa boss Irvin Jim said that in the 2016 municipal elections the union’s United Front would support individual working class leaders at strategic municipalities who are fighting against neo-liberal agendas.

This was decided at the union’s four-day central committee meeting.

“The central committee has resolved there is no turning back,” said Jim. “We are forging ahead to crystalise the political organ.”
