NATIONAL NEWS - The body of a father who allegedly killed his two children by slitting their throats was found at the back of a house in Tembisa on Johannesburg’s East Rand, on Thursday, police said.

Police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said a relative called police about a body the man who allegedly killed his two young children before stabbing their mother. The man, who is suspected of having committed suicide, was found lying at the back of a house in Phomolong in Tembisa.

Earlier, police said the man arrived at his house in Phomolong on Wednesday evening and took his two children inside where he allegedly slit their throats with a knife.

The five-year-old boy and the two year-old girl died instantly. He then left the kids and went to a nearby shebeen where he found their mother and allegedly stabbed her on the upper body.
The mother is in hospital.

“A case of double murder, attempted murder and suspected suicide is being investigated,” said Mofokeng.
