NATIONAL NEWS - The DA Federal Executive has suspended MP Renaldo Gouws over racist rants in a video that is making rounds on social media.
Close to 60 000 people have signed an online petition demanding the removal of the recently sworn-in MP from the National Assembly.
In a statement, the party’s federal council said it has established that the video, in which Gouws uses execrable language including the k-word, is genuine and not a fake as initially suspected.
“The DA Federal Executive has therefore suspended Mr Gouws with immediate effect.”
Meanwhile, the SA Human Rights Commission has indicated that they will start proceedings against Gouws in the Equality Court.
