MOTORING NEWS - Volkswagen South Africa’s best-selling model, the Polo Vivo is being rejuvenated with the addition of a sportier, stylish two-door GT derivative.

Over 40 000 Polo Vivo units inhatchback and sedan have been sold since its introduction to the market in March 2010.

The Polo Vivo GT is based on the current two-door body version and is fitted with 1.6 77kW Trendline standard features such as ABS, electric windows, radio and CD player with four speakers, alarm and central locking with remote and bee sting antenna.

In addition to these features, Polo Vivo GT will be distinguished by the following exclusive interior and exterior features:

• Lowered, sporty suspension
• Sports seats with ‘Rocket’ trim
• Gear shift and handbrake with red stitching
• 3-spoke steering wheel with red stitching and aluminum inserts
• 15" alloy wheels
• Tailgate spoiler
• Twin chrome tailpipes
• GT badges on grille and tailgate
• Seat belts in red
• Dashboard panels in gunmetal silver

Polo Vivo GT is powered by the 1.6 77kW engine with 155Nm of torque available at 5 250 rpm. It will be ma-ted to a 5-speed transmission.
It reaches top speed at 187 km/h and sprints from 0-100 km/h in just under 11 seconds. Its published fuel consumption is a commendable 6.6 l/100km on the combined cycle.

GT will be available in four exterior colours - deep black, candy white, flash red and reflex silver.
The retail price including VAT and emissions tax - R155 320.
The Polo Vivo GT comes standard with a 3 year or 120 000 km warranty and a 6 year anti-corrosion warranty, service plan optional. The service interval is 15 000 km.
