MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A run and walk event to celebrate women and girls will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 9 August, Women's Day.
The 10km and 5km run and walk will start at the KwaNonqaba Police Station at 6:30 for 7:00 and finish at the CBS Cafe in Mayixhale Road, KwaNonqaba.
According to William Bennett, spokesperson for the organiser of the event, Bayethe Multisport Academy, a community that builds together, forges bonds that are unbreakable.
"We see ourselves as part of this community and will continue to build."
The event is not an ASWD Licenced Run/Walk event, which means people will not be required to wear race numbers. People are asked to donate money or sanitary pads which will be distributed at a local school.
Bennet says this is a community driven initiative and the aim is to help restore girls' dignity.
