MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 40-year-old woman was allegedly forced from her KwaNonqaba home at gunpoint in the early hours of Sunday, 25 August, before she was driven around Mossel Bay for several hours and then to another location and sexually assaulted.
A police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp says a case of rape and kidnapping has been opened and is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Mossel Bay.
Kapp says that according to the woman's statement, a person came to her door just after 01:00 on Sunday. When the woman went to see who it was, the suspect allegedly forced the woman out of her house at gunpoint and into a car.
The suspect then allegedly drove with the woman around Mossel Bay until about 05:00 before driving to a house in Elangeni, KwaNonqaba, and allegedly sexually assaulting her.
Kapp says the woman managed to escape after the assault and call for help. The incident was reported to the police that morning.
He says an arrest in the matter is imminent.
