Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Several meetings took place this afternoon, Wednesday 24 August, between the Mossel Bay Municipality, stakeholders in community safety and religious and community leaders to resolve the conflict following protest action by a group of residents in the KwaNonqaba area since Tuesday, 23 August.
This afternoon all roads in the area were open including main roads such as the N2 and Louis Fourie Road.
KwaNonqaba residents are unhappy about housing issues including the size of houses, and also demanded that three suspects who were arrested on a charge of public violence should be released.
Police are monitoring the situation and the Public Order Policing Unit is still currently deployed.
