MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A reward of R2000 is offered for information regarding the vandalism that took place in Cuff Street. The reward is offered by Ward Councillor for Ward 8, Lodewyk Coetzee.
Residents and shopkeepers this morning, Monday 21 February, reacted with shock and dismay when they discovered the damage to the trees that line the street.
Mossel Bay Municipality has upgraded the look and feel of this quaint street in an effort to stimulate the local economy by attracting more pedestrians to the CBD.
Coetzee thanked the shopkeepers for their efforts to save the trees. “This deliberate destruction and vandalism are utterly selfish and unnecessary, it's a disgrace.”
One of the Cuff Street’s legends, Mr Laufs, was thanked in particular for his efforts to mend the destruction.
Information can be reported to the Mossel Bay Police Station (044 606 2805).
